Power Plays Weekly Roundup
June 6, 2025
By Scott Redler
We'll kick off this week's roundup by taking off 1/3 of Amazon (AMZN). This leaves us with 2/3 the original position.
What a week...
We had plenty of trade drama and a few key earnings reports (notably Broadcom), and then President Trump and Elon Musk started a war of words over the Congressional spending bill.
That actually helped take down the market on Thursday
The good news is that the market got a nice lift on Friday after the jobs report.
And our names were mostly unaffected through the weakness - WRD is an exception.
This current action is a good example of why we don't fight price.
Yes, the news flow has been ugly but the market has refused to break, and key names have acted well.
Now let’s talk about our current Power Plays:
Amazon (AMZN) finally woke up, and may finally get in gear for a power move over $215.
Grayscale Ethereum Trust ETF (ETHE): I added this because I believe crypto rotation would favor a move to Ethereum. So far it hasn't acted great but I'l stick with it for now.
DoorDash (DASH) broke through $215 this week, which is what I've been waiting for. It still has go-to status with serious upside potential.
Nvidia's (NVDA) earnings report last week was good enough to keep the name intact, and it's been acting much better. This name will be a prime beneficiary of improving relations with China.
WeRide (WRD): this is a classic, fast-moving "buy dips and sell rips" name. However, it hasn't held up as well as I'd have liked. I'm giving it more room to the downside. The danger zone is now $7.90 to $8.40.
Enjoy your weekend!
