Power Plays Weekly Roundup
November 22, 2024

By Scott Redler

Thanksgiving week typically has a positive bias, and we saw that play out this week.

The SPX hit a new record high of 6031 today.

And the Russell 2000 is right near Monday's record high.

Another big story this week was the big rebound in Bitcoin, which had a shallow pullback that was bought fast.

I still expect it to cross $100,000 in the near future.

And if that happens, it could slingshot higher.

That's why I added Terawulf (WULF) today, and it's why I'm leaving on a small trailer in iShares Bitcoin Trust ETF (IBIT).

In the near term, I'm going to look for more January effect plays, because it seems like the January effect just keeps happening sooner and sooner.

So keep an eye out for fresh alerts.

Now let's dig into our names:

Terawulf (WULF): I added this Bitcoin miner back on Friday because it looks primed to slingshot higher. Druckenmiller increasing his stake is a big positive and is bringing attention to this story.

Citigroup (C) joined Power Plays last week as a play on the ongoing strength in financials. Not a fast mover but I expect it to push higher in the weeks to come.

Tesla (TSLA) has been re-emerging as a "Go To" tech stock. As long as it stays above the $330 area, there is potential for a high-volume move over $348.50, then $359. In fact I may look to add into strength.

United States Natural Gas Fund (UNG): I added this to Power Plays two weeks ago because natural gas sometimes has violent rallies into year-end. We used strength take off 1/3. This looks like a classic buy-the-dips situation. Just don't chase it into strength.

Apple (AAPL) has been a slow grinder that looks ready to finally turn up. I think a lot of people will be caught off guard by the coming strength.

Amazon (AMZN) has been rebuilding over the $204 area after it was dragged down by insider selling. It could have a big move next week.

iShares Bitcoin Trust ETF (IBIT): we have been hanging on to a trailer because I still see Bitcoin crossing $100,000 soon.

Have a good weekend!
