Power Plays Weekly Roundup
October 25, 2024

By Scott Redler

It's been another good week for Power Plays.

We took off XBI for a loss, and I'd like to have held onto Meta (META) until today to squeeze out a few more points, but we can't get everything right.

Otherwise, I've been happy with our strategy, especially our focus on crypto names MicroStrategy (MSTR), Terawulf (WULF), and IBIT.

The market's been less volatile than most expected, though next week is very busy with tons of major earnings reports (AAPL, AMZN, MSFT, META, GOOGL, AMD and more) plus major economic data (PCE Price Index, NFP, GDP, and more).

The big question will be can good earnings reports be rewarded? Netflix (NFLX), Tesla (TSLA), and the banks did great after strong earnings reports, so we'll see if that continues.

And of course, we have the election.

We'll stay on the hunt for new Power Plays.

With so many names reporting earnings, I'll be looking for names that gap up and hold for continuation plays.

Now let's dig into our names:

Tesla (TSLA): I added this as my #1 election play on Thursday after earnings and it's off to a great start already. Wall Street is changing its tune on this stock very quickly.

Eli Lilly (LLY) 11/1 $990 Calls: I added these for earnings next week. Unfortunately, LLY has pulled back but earnings are obviously still the big potential catalyst here.

MicroStrategy (MSTR) is booming thanks to the ongoing rally in Bitcoin. What a beauty! We took off half to lock in a gain, but it still looks like the best Bitcoin name.

Terawulf (WULF): Now that it's had a rest, it looks ready for higher prices, though of course it's reliant upon Bitcoin rising.

Microsoft (MSFT) got off to a lousy start for us, but it's grinding up nicely. I'll be taking it off into earnings next week.

AST SpaceMobile (ASTS) took off pretty fast, and I'm glad we took off 75% at higher prices. It's since come back down to Earth.

iShares Bitcoin Trust ETF (IBIT) looks fantastic and I still fully expect a big rally into Thanksgiving. I've been calling this "The Bitcoin Turkey Trot." We'll see if Bitcoin clears $70,000 this weekend to push IBIT up even more.

Nvidia (NVDA): we just have a trailer on here, but it's been a fantastic performer for us. I wouldn't chase it up here.

 Have a good weekend!
