Power Plays Weekly Roundup
September 20, 2024

This was an awesome week for active traders -- if you could switch gears fast.
We saw a big pop and drop on the FOMC cutting 50 bps on Wednesday.
And then on Thursday we had a massive rally, which set the stage for profit-taking today.
This action isn't out of the ordinary, though I really want to see QQQ reclaim the $480 level into the close.
The longer it stays below $480, the greater the chance of a correction.
I'd also like to see get back in gear - it's been straight down all day - not the type of action we want to see in leading sectors.
But for now, I'm focused on staying nimble because this tape is so stock-specific.
Thankfully, we've seen some big moves in our names like Meta (META) and Doordash (DASH).
Now let's dig into our Power Plays.
Dell (DELL) shot up fast after we added. I'm glad we took profits because it's come back down.
Doordash (DASH) really woke up this week which was nice to see. This should be an institutional favorite going forward. I'm looking for dips so I can reload.
Amazon (AMZN) broke Thursday's low unfortunately, so I'm keeping a very close eye on this in case we see a change in character.
Tesla (TSLA) has been the best Mag 7 name in September, and it's seeing some much-needed profit-taking. I'll watch it closely on dips.
Meta (META) has been a very tricky name, and has dealt out so many fakeouts in recent months. But it exploded this week and is holding up much better than most tech names today.
Nvidia (NVDA) is showing a little relative strength vs. other semis today, which is at least constructive. Still, it will need better sector action to see a real move up.
Have a good weekend!
