As you know, I don't like to take stock into earnings, so I'm going to take Apple (AAPL) and Amazon (AMZN) off Power Plays here.

These names report Thursday, but they could get hit sooner if Microsoft (MSFT) and AMD (AMD) disappoints tonight.

Nonetheless, they've been winners for us.

We added Apple at $184.70 back on May 3, trimmed 1/3 at $190.27, and another 1/3 at $195.93.

As for Amazon, we added it on June 20 at $185.93 and took off half at $197.88.

If you want to be involved for earnings, I'd look at these options:

• AAPL August 2 $222 calls
• AMZN August 2 $195 calls

And of course, both these names will be on the radar post-earnings, where we might get more optimal setups.

Please note that I'll be on vacation from Thursday August 1 to Tuesday August 6.

So there won't be a weekly roundup this Friday.

However, I will instruct my team to send out stock-related if necessary while I'm away.
