Futures are slipping as traders get ready for an important week of data for the Fed.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Let\u2019s get right to it!<\/span><\/p>\n

Important Week<\/span><\/h2>\n

This will be a much busier week for traders, focused on inflation.<\/span><\/p>\n

The economic data begins with the release of the January CPI Tuesday morning.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

That\u2019s expected to show headline inflation pressures rose 0.2% monthly and 2.9% annually in the first month of the year.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Thursday will be the busiest day of data with weekly jobless claims, the Empire State manufacturing survey, Philly Fed manufacturing survey, import prices, and retail sales all released before the market opens.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Then the February homebuilder sentiment index will be released later in the morning.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

On Friday, traders will get January housing starts and building permits data plus the January PPI ahead of the open.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The data concludes for the week with the University of Michigan\u2019s consumer sentiment index later Friday morning.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Earnings Season Continues<\/span><\/h2>\n

Earnings will continue to roll-in this week on top of that economic data with 61 <\/span>S&P 500 <\/b>names scheduled to report.<\/span><\/p>\n

    Oil Prices Fall<\/span><\/h2>\n

    Oil prices are falling this morning after last week\u2019s rally that was fueled by escalating tensions in the Middle East.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

    West Texas Intermediate crude futures are down over 1% at just over $76 bbl while Brent crude futures are down more than 1% at $81.30 bbl.<\/span><\/p>\n

    Both contracts popped more than 6% last week after Israel rejected Hamas\u2019 ceasefire proposal.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
