{"id":73139,"date":"2024-01-02T09:01:45","date_gmt":"2024-01-02T14:01:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blog.t3live.com\/?p=73139"},"modified":"2024-01-02T09:02:31","modified_gmt":"2024-01-02T14:02:31","slug":"coffee-with-greta-new-year","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.t3live.com\/2024\/01\/02\/coffee-with-greta-new-year\/","title":{"rendered":"Coffee With Greta: New Year"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=vgdhX9CEbZQ\">Set a reminder<\/a><\/strong> for today's New Year market discussion with David Prince LIVE at 12:00 pm ET!<\/p>\n<p><b>DJIA Futures: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">-242 (-0.6%)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>SPX Futures: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">-40 (-0.8%)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>NASDAQ Futures: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">-183 (-1.1%)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Good morning friends!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Futures are dropping as the new year of trade begins on Wall Street.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Let\u2019s get right to it!<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Stocks Drop, Yields Climb<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The major indexes are all falling ahead of the open as yields rise to kick off the New Year.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The 10-year Treasury yield is up 9 basis points at 3.97% while the 2-year yield is 10 basis points higher at 4.36%.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The market is widely expecting the Fed to approve its first rate cut at the second meeting of the year, with over 69% of traders anticipating a cut on March 20.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This will be an important week of data for that outlook on the Fed\u2019s plans.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Labor Department reports job openings for November on Wednesday, ADP releases its private employment report for December on Thursday, and the official December jobs report will be out Friday morning.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Apple Drops After Barclays Downgrade<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><b>Apple <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(AAPL) shares are falling 2.3% in premarket trade after Barclays downgraded the stock to underweight.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The group trimmed its price target to $160 from $161 due to \u201clackluster\u201d sales of the iPhone 15, specifically in China.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In a note, Barclays analyst Tim Long wrote, \u201cWe are still picking up weakness on iPhone volumes and mix, as well as a lack of bounce-back in Macs, iPads and wearables.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Long said he expects that weakness in hardware sales to continue.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Tesla Tops Q4 Delivery Estimates<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><b>Tesla <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(TSLA) shares are up 0.9% ahead of the open after reporting stronger-than-expected deliveries in Q4.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The electric automaker says it delivered 484,507 vehicles in the final three months of 2023 and produced 494,989.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">That topped analysts\u2019 estimates for 477,000 Q4 deliveries.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">461,538 of the vehicles delivered in the quarter were Model 3 and Model Y cars.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The number brings Tesla\u2019s total deliveries for the year to 1,808,581 while production totaled 1,845,985.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">That was better than the company\u2019s own forecast for 1.8 million in deliveries and represents 38% year over year growth in deliveries and 35% production growth.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Set a reminder for today&#8217;s New Year market discussion with David Prince LIVE at 12:00 pm ET!
