The Power Of Late Day ORBs

Shares

An ORB is an Opening Range Breakout, as I define it, a breakout above (or below) the first half hour’s range.

In stocks in a strong (or weak) position, they often lead to Trend Days.

Let’s look at AFRM which was a long idea on Tuesday night’s Hit & Run Stock Report.

AFRM exploded for the second time in two weeks on September 10.

On Tuesday, AFRM went into my Plus One/Minus Two buy setup.

We used an ORB (Opening Range Breakout) for a trigger versus chasing it on a presumed upspike continuation.

A 10 min AFRM for two days shows Wednesday’s up opening spike to 112 followed by a flush.

A Late Day ORB occurred in the last hour on trade above 112, the high of the opening range.

AFRM followed through to the top side with authority, trading to 115.40 quickly.

Not bad for a half hour's work.

Subscribers trimmed and are holding the balance as Late Day Breakouts often signal follow through the next session.
